The Church of God in Australia is a vibrant and growing faith community that is part of a larger global movement of Bible-based and evangelistic oriented Pentecostal-Holiness believers tracing their roots to the Tennessee-North Carolina border where in 1886 a group of Christians whose objectives where to restore sound scriptural doctrine and practise, deeper consecration, evangelism and missions, and Christian Service - began gathering together in prayer and fellowship.

In Australia, the Church of God was officially organised in 1976 with the base of ministry in the cities of Campbelltown, New South Wales and Adelaide, South Australia. Over the years the ministry has spread outward and now reaches several states of Australia as well as 8 countries in Oceania.

In the National Council Meeting of July 2005, Church of God Australia found inspiration in facing New Beginnings. It was a unanimous impression that a new atmosphere of openness and growth, a new excitement about what God can do as we open up to Him and the leading of the Holy Spirit.

DECLARATION OF FAITH

The Church of God Believes the whole Bible to be completely and equally inspired and that it is the written Word of God.

The Declaration of Faith is the official expression of Church of God doctrine.
